Many Christians believe that the Second Coming and the Rapture are the same event, yet with a close look at scripture, we can see the truth.
At the Second Coming of Messiah, which is the return of Jesus from Heaven, He will ride to earth WITH His saints (Zechariah 14:5, Revelation 19:14, Jude 1:14, Daniel 7:27). This is not possible unless the dead in Christ have recieved their glorified bodies, which happens at the rapture before the 7 year Tribulation period begins.
At the time of the rapture (Strongs G726), Yeshua Jesus does not return to earth with His Saints, but instead calls them up in the air to Heaven and in an instant the dead in Christ and those who are alive and remain (in Christ) will be changed into incorruptle bodies (1 Corinthians 15, 1 Thess. 4:16). At the rapture Jesus does not touch His feet upon the Earth and in Matthew 24, verses 37-41, Yeshua says one will be taken or recieved and the other left or refused - a sudden disappearance! While at His Second Coming all the tribes of the earth will see Him and mourn (Matthew 24:30) and Messiah will then establish His Kingdom in Jerusalem for 1000 Years (Psalm 2). We see clearly that Jesus' Second Coming is after the Tribulation and will be visible to all while the rapture is before the wrath and happens in an instant!
The Letter To the Church of Philadelphia seems to indicate that just like Noah and Lot, God will save His remnant, His sanctified and faithful ones that believe in Jesus as LORD and savior, from the flood of judgment that will come upon the entire world. In an instant, we will be changed and caught up to Heaven before the day of judgment. This seems to match this Biblical passage as well:
Revelation 3:10 KJV - Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.
The pattern of Yah in the Old Testament is that He saves His own righteous ones who believe in Him before His wrath is poured out - Noah was saved from the flood, Lot from Sodom, Israelites from the Plagues and Red Sea, Rehab from Jericho, and so on. God is the same yesterday, today, and forever more!
